Not everyone who gets waterboard or genitally electrocuted by the CIA or other US personnel is guilty of anything. Have you not been keeping up with how some of the detained got into gitmo? Turned in by foreign sources for a bounty, leaving the US to keep someone whose crime might have been pissing someone else off. It is highly misleading, albeit entertaining, to cite some exotic items from this restaurant’s menu when referring to the Berkeley school lunch program. 2. The University of California is a state institution and is a separate entity from the city of Berkeley. It has an ROTC program; does not oppose military recruiting; and its chancellor protested the city council action against the Marine recruiting center. Yet the largest cut in this act would be nearly $1 million to the university Robert Matsui center. It makes no sense to punish the university for the actions of a city council over which it has no control. Two points: 1. If they want to live in a non free state then let them.I am a Marine a member of the strongest and most elite of the fighting forces.We stand tall with pride and determination when asked to defend our countries freedom only to have part of our own country turn their back on us.If Berkley wants to condenm our young and brave people for wanting to defend our country and their freedom then lets hold a vote and just kick them out of the United States of America. Stop sending them gov't money after all they don't seem to care about the reast of the country so why should we worry about them.Let them fend for themselves ,let the burden of protecting and helping their own fall on their shoulders,without gov't aid after all they don't want to be part of this great nation one who stands behind its heros the men and women of our fighting force. So SCREW THEM and their Holier than thou attitude.The motto of the Corps is Semper Fidales (always faithful) and Country and Corp. We are a proud organazation. I am and always will be a MARINE Until the day the lord calls me home.The Hell with the people of Berkley lets just call them the old Soviet Republic. I agree that bill was a disaster. I also agree that having Juan Hernandez on the McCain team (even though McCain says he is an unpaid volunteer with no input on policy) leaves room to doubt McCain's sincerity. So either McCain's awakening is false or perhaps his turn around is real and he is using Hernandez's radical open borders/open trade stance to lure the Latino vote for McCain. And if that is the case McCain then he is disingenuous and is stabbing hopeful illegals in the back. And we certainly do not want a back stabber in the White House. Perhaps this will come up in future debates and this can be fully disclosed to the American people. And yes I think he is a spoiler for Romney. The reason I won't back Romney is his demeanor... he always has a wisecracking smirk on his face during the debates. He has run what I think are dishonest campaign ads attacking both McCain and Huckabee. The bottom line is I just don't trust him. Of course McCain has said some questionable things as well. But I would rather have someone who is a not always a party "yes man" and will stand his ground when it is the right thing to do. I think that is what is going to attract a lot of independent voters (like myself). Congress needs to learn to put America first and not go along with the party simply to further ones political career. I’m just saying voting for MCcain is like voting for a democrat. I really only supported Mike Huckabee before I decided to support Mitt. I started losing hope witht he guy after the Florida Primary. Then I just came to the conclusion that Huckabee was just a one hit wonder and he was never doing well in the other primaries. So now I am going with the next best choice. Do you think that Huckabee could make or break Mitt Romney and do you think Romney can use Huckabee as to his advantage? or Do you think he is a Romney spoiler?
